Hi friend! I'm Angela

I’m a mom of two daring boys, a non-profit leader, and the acupuncturist and owner of Calm San Diego. I teach stressed-out, overwhelmed people how to overcome their anxiety and take on life with renewed enthusiasm!
But let’s be honest - we live in a stressful world. And while I now have a pretty good handle on my stress, it wasn’t always that way.  
For years I rode the rollercoaster of anxiety. I missed out on sleep, my physical health started to crumble, and I constantly felt something was “off.” I knew something had to change, but I didn’t think I could afford to take time for myself. (Oh, how wrong I was!)
Thankfully, my interest in wellness opened so many doors for me to successfully work through my anxiety. I learned how stress biologically impacts the body and how trauma can change brain chemistry. The thing is, when your biology makes you vulnerable to certain stressors, you have to find a way to cope. 
By working through my own anxiety, I experienced first-hand how profound holistic care and lifestyle habits can turn a life around. Thanks to acupuncture, meditation, and a solid self-care plan, my personal struggle with anxiety is under control.
Anxiety will always be an aspect of my life (especially with new transitions - like having kids, or a big shift at work), but it no longer controls me. I’m in the driver’s seat!

Jenna Sanborn

My life has been a free-spirited ride that has given me experience in a multitude of directions. Not all my experiences were pleasant ones, though. I know now that sometimes life challenges you in a way that helps you become a stronger and better version of yourself.
Some years ago, my life was greatly challenged by a swarm of unrelenting health crises. Not getting help from the modern medical system, I had no other choice but to find “alternative care.”  It was then that I found natural doctors and healers of all types that finally had answers and effective treatment solutions that helped me on all levels of mind, body, and spirit.
After hard work and a lot of lifestyle changes, I found myself so inspired by the changes that had taken place within myself that I chose to study Traditional Chinese Medicine aggressively. The knowledge and wisdom I have learned on this journey are so profound that I cannot keep this information to myself in good conscience.
It is my great passion to pay forward all of the lessons and knowledge I have learned so that I can now help you become a more robust, better version of yourself too.
I am a general practitioner and can treat all disease types. Though, I especially enjoy treating pain related syndromes, athletes with orthopedic injuries, digestive diseases of all types, and dermatology including cosmetic whole health beauty. I effectively combine acupuncture with internal and topical herbal medicine that is customized for each person. I also utilize techniques such as fire cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, massage, and electro-stimulation therapy. Each session offers education and advice that can range from physical therapeutic stretching exercises, nutritional advice, and mental-emotional stress reduction techniques. My goal is to help you heal while also providing you with the tools to continue to heal yourself. 

Michelle Dunn

Michelle Dunn is a licensed acupuncturist, massage therapist and yoga instructor. She received her Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine and massage certificate from Pacific College of Health and Sciences.
Michelle’s clinical experience includes treatment of orthopedic ailments and pain, women’s health, digestive disorders, and mental and emotional health.
Michelle believes in the innate ability of the body to heal, it just needs the right tools and environment to do so. During her acupuncture treatments, she likes to incorporate breathing exercises, aromatherapy and bodywork to guide her patients into a deeper relaxation so that the healing process can begin. Michelle is passionate and committed to educating her patients on lifestyle adjustments, nutrition and other mind/body practices that empower them towards feeling their best.
